As you may already know, I bartend at weddings at a golf course here in Minnesota.
I see it all.
Bad weddings, good weddings, beautiful weddings and tacky weddings.
Tonight is a mix of all of the above and it makes me think about all of the things I DON’T want for my wedding.
The DJ is playing songs that I despise such as “the chicken dance” and “the hokey pokey”. Um, no.
The food was a buffet style all the way down to a water station, coffee station and soda station. I want plated meals.
The guest list is made up of mostly older generation with some younger guests mixed in. Everyone has left by now minus the few drunk people. I want a great time and will definitely invite people who know how to have a blast…people who know how to truly celebrate.
I’m not knocking this wedding because they’ve had some great and beautiful aspects…but it’s clear they cut costs and I’m the kind of person that finds a wedding to be the most important night of your life, so it should be done right.
Maybe that’s the wedding planner in me

I definitely like plated dinners too. Buffets are so…. informal? And spare me the chicken dance and macarena. Yikes.
I like when people are just really truly happy for the couple and you can feel the energy in the air.
